As part of its effort to build better relations with similar organizations in the region, members of the PSPA, led by the organization’s president, Dr. Alex Brillantes, Jr., along with PSPA members Maricel Fernandez, Lizan Calina and Maraya Bien, recently traveled to Seoul, South Korea to attend and present papers at the Fourth Annual Conference of the Asian Association for Public Administration. The conference was held from January 17-18 at Yonsei University.

During the two-day event, participants from Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Japan and, of course, South Korea and the Philippines, presented papers on the theme “Paradigm Shift of Welfare Administration and Social Policy in Asia.” Environmental management, social welfare, bureaucratic reforms, gender development and social inequality were among the topics that were discussed.
